Journal History
The Journal of Water and Soil has been publishing quarterly since 2007 (4 issues per year).
Publishing schedule
The journal is published on a quarterly basis, and the table below shows the exact dates of publication for each volume in a given year. The journal adheres to this publishing schedule unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Digital Preservation Policy
Website Archiving
All of our electronic content, including the Journal's website and manuscripts, is archived in two different ways. Firstly, the PDF format of the journal's content is accessible online to readers from our main server. Secondly, a copy of all content is kept as a backup on another server. In case of any content failure, it can be made available online again within 24-36 hours from our backup server.
Moreover, every published issue of the journal is sent to the following databases: [Internet Archive (since 2018) & Iran Scientific Journals System]
Therefore, the content can be accessed at any time even in the absence of website operation.
Abstracting/Indexing Services
Our journal's Abstracting/Indexing services store all essential information about the articles. The list of these services can be found in the 'Indexing and Abstracting' section.
Self-Archiving
Authors can archive the final published version of their articles in personal or institutional repositories, after their article’s publication.
Open Access
This is an open access journal, which means that all content is freely available without charge to users or their institutions. Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without requiring prior permission from the publisher or author.
This journal provides immediate open access to its content based on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Copyright
- Copyright on any open access article in the Journal of Water and Soil, is retained by the author(s).
- Authors grant Ferdowsi University of Mashhad a license to publish the article and identify itself as the original publisher.
- Authors also grant any third party the right to use the article freely, provided its integrity is maintained, and the original authors, citation details, and publisher are properly identified.

Peer review
All submitted manuscripts to this journal undergo peer review, with the type of review process being double-blind. The peer reviewers are typically external to the journal's editorial team, except in cases where there are no available external reviewers with subject expertise. Ownership and management
Ferdowsi University of Mashhad owns and manages this journal in collaboration with the Iranian Society of Mechanical Engineers (ISME), as indicated on the homepage of the journal's website.
Advisory body
The editorial board members of this journal are recognized experts in the subject areas stated in the Journal's aims and scope. The full names and affiliations of each board member are provided on the journal's website under the 'Editorial Board' section, and the list is regularly updated. To ensure that the journal maintains its integrity and to avoid association with predatory or deceptive practices, the journal periodically reviews its editorial board in collaboration with the publisher to ensure its relevancy and appropriateness.
Article Processing Charge (APCs)
There is no submission fee, publication fee or page charge for manuscripts written in English language. However, for articles written in Persian language, publication fee is 2,000,000 Rials including (article review processing charges, language editing fees) which is taken when the manuscript is accepted for publication. The corresponding author of the manuscript is responsible for paying the publication fee. Author fees does not influence editorial decision making.
- There are no fees for membership, sending a manuscript or other supplementary charges.
- Author fee information are easy to find and presented in About Journal and also in the submission process (Cover Letter & Checklist).
Other revenue
Ferdowsi University of Mashhad as the publisher of the journal, supports it for each published issue by paying a defined budget according to its published annual rank in Portal of Scientific Journals of Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. The allocated budget includes those pertaining to setup and maintenance of the publication infrastructure, routine operation of the Journal, processing of manuscripts through peer-reviews, editing, publishing, maintaining the scholarly record, and archiving.
The other financial source of this journal is fees paid by authors whose articles have been accepted for publishing. Revenue sources do not influence on editorial decision making.

This Journal does not accept any advertising.
Direct marketing
There are no direct marketing activities in this journal.
Paper Plagiarism Checker
To prevent plagiarism, the Journal of Water and Soil uses the Hamyab system as similarity checker tool for the Persian articles and the iThenticate system for the Latin articles. All articles before sending to the reviewers are checked for any similarity, and if the percentage of similarity is more than 20%, the article will be withdrawn from the review process.

The Names and Email addresses entered in this journal’s website will be used exclusively for the purposes of publishing the Journal and will not be available to any other person or organization.
